We affirm the core tenets of Christian faith set out in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.
We are committed to being a safe place for children and other vulnerable persons
Vision / Mission
Our vision is to see the Kingdom of God firmly established in our own lives and growing in our community. To this end our purpose is threefold:
- To worship God, acknowledging his rule, authority and blessing in our lives.
- To encourage and nurture one another through fellowship, teaching and sharing of the gifts God has given each one.
- To be ‘salt and light’ in our community.
In order to grow our relationships with God, with each other and with our neighbours we will:
- assemble regularly for public worship of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; our Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier,
- proclaim the ‘good news’ of God’s grace — that Jesus Christ is ‘the way, the truth and the life’,
- promote Christian love, fellowship and mutual support among the church family,
- teach, train and disciple believers toward spiritual growth and maturity in Christ under the guidance of the Bible and Holy Spirit,
- draw others to Christ by corporately and individually exercising the gifts God has given us and showing the fruit of the Spirit in our lives,
- encourage individual and corporate engagement in the life of our local community and beyond in a spirit of Christian love and service.
Values / Guiding Principles
- Welcome: We will welcome young and old, singles and couples, and families in their various forms. We seek to be a congregation that knows each other, celebrates together, grieves together and supports one another, and that serves, loves and cares for others.
- Prayer and Worship: We acknowledge prayer and worship are our right and joyful response to God’s majesty and grace in our lives.
- Truth: We value the Bible as God’s gift and guide for living full and fruitful lives — “to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right… fully equipped to do good to everyone.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 The Living Bible)
- Cooperation: We will stimulate and encourage a spirit of Christian love, fellowship and cooperation with the leaders and members of other local Christian congregations.
- Compassion: We will demonstrate a compassionate Christ-like presence in the community.
- Ministry and Leadership: All members are ministers. Ministry and leadership belong to the whole church in accordance with the gifting of the Holy Spirit. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10 The Living Bible)
